PREPORTING

Reporting: When we were about to finish the branding project, My role was to present the project to Owen Bryce. I presented about the content strategy for Owen Bryce.

Reflection

What did I learn: I learned that I need to prepare better before presenting. My presentation wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. I wasn't that well prepared and I could have done a lot better job if I had practiced more beforehand. I also learned that I need to have a script prepared and learn it to know what I'm going to say.

Improvements: I can improve my presentation skills by practicing more and getting feedback from my peers. From then on I always prepare what i'm gonna say during my presentation and practice it before the presentation. I also could have recorded myself presenting and watched it to see what I could improve.

Conclusion: My presentation skills have gone better since the beginning of the semester, but I still have to take more initiative to practice and prepare for my presentations. I will apply what I learned from this experience to make my future presentations better.

REPORTING

Reporting: During this semester, we had clients for whom we had to present our work and progress.

Reflection

What did I learn: In this semester, I learned how to present my work in a more professional way. With each presentation I'm getting more and more comfortable presenting my work to clients. I've learned to take feedback and improve on it. I've also learned the importance of preparing and practicing my delivery. These skills have helped me to present my work in a clearer way.

Improvements: I can improve my presentation skills by practicing more and getting feedback from my peers.

Conclusion: I feel like i'm getting more comfortable presenting my work to clients. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm getting there. I will continue to practice and improve my presentation skills.

CONNECTING TO LO

Reporting: For the presentation above, I applied the DOT framework in reporting by preparing structured presentations to different audiences and show my progress clearly.

DOT Framework method used:

Observation: By observing my classmates' I noticed that they had structured presentations and were better prepared than I was. They were not stumbling over their words as much as I did, had more confidence and had better delivery. This made me realize that I need to improve my presentation skills.

What: For this Picoo presentation, I prepared a script in my notes to know what im going to say and also memorized the slides to know when it is my time to speak.

Why: I did it because during previous presentation I felt unprepared. for example stumbling over my words, forgetting what I need to say and not being able to deliver my message clearly. Seeing my classmates' presentations made me realize that I need to improve my presentation skills since I want to become a front-end developer and presenting will be a big part of my job.

How: By having a script, learning it and memorizing the slides, I didn't stumble over my words and felt more confident during the presentation.

Results: I learned the importance of preperation and rehearsing before presentations. I also became more confident in my presentation skills, learned how to present iterations, process and results, and was able to communicate my progress clearly. I will continue to practice and improve my presentation skills.

COMMUNICATION

Communication with stakeholders: During the Branding project I communicated with Owen Bryce to better understand his needs and expectations.

Reflection

What did I learn: I learned that communication with stakeholders is crucial for the success of a project. I learned how to ask the right questions to get the information I need.

Improvements: I can improve my communication skills by asking more questions and being more specific about what I need. I can also improve my listening skills to better understand the needs of the client.

Conclusion: I feel like I'm getting better at communicating with stakeholders, but I still need to be more active. I still have a lot to learn and I will continue to practice and improve my communication skills.

Communication with stakeholders: Involving the client during the project, showing effective communication skills with stakeholder and handling their feedback.

DOT Framework method used:

Explore user requirements: To get a more details on what our client is expecting from us, I sent some questions to Owen Bryce to clarify what he wants from us.

What: I sent Owen Bryce a list of questions in our group chat that he created. I asked about extra features in his website, what artists inspire him, how he want to be promoted(music producer, singer, songwriter?) and a snippet of his music to get a better understanding of his style.

Why: I did it because our team wanted to get a better understanding of Owen Bryce's end goal. Without asking questions and getting his feedback we wouldn't have known what inspires him, what extra features he wants in his website and how he wants to be promoted which could lead us to creating something that he doesn't like.

How: Formulating the questions with my teammates, getting feedback from them and taking the initiative to send him the questions through Discord group chat.

Results: Found out that that Owen Bryce want his website to include biography, links to latest music, contact section. His inspiration is Chance Pena and Hozier and he wants to be promoted as a singer, songwriter.

EXPLORATORY RESEARCH

Exploratory research: During the Branding project our team had to make a brand guide for Owen Bryce. I needed to do some exploratory research to understand what brand guide means. Brand guide source I read.

Reflection

What did I learn: I didn't really know what a brand guide was. I learned that a brand guide is a document that outlines the tone and visual elements of a brand. It includes things like the brand's mission, values, and visual identity.

Improvements: I can improve my research skills by being more specific about what I need to find. Also I could watch some videos about brand guides to better understand what they are and how to create them.

Conclusion: I still need to improve my research skills, but I feel like I'm getting better at it. I will continue to practice and improve my research skills. I will also try to be more specific about what I need to find.

Exploratory research: Conducting research to better understand a topic or problem, addressing questions like what, why and how. Finding reliable information, evaluating sources, and applying findings to the project using DOT framework.

DOT Framework method used:

Literature study: To find out more about what brand guide is, I did literature study and read some articles about it.

What: I read some articles about what brand guide is and what it includes. This helped me understand what Owen Bryce wants and needs from us. Articles I read(1) Second article

Why: I did this because I didn't know what brand guide is and what it includes. It was one of Owen Bryce's requirements and if I hadn't done any research I wouldn't have known what to include in the brand guide.

How: I started looking up articles on google about brand guides and how they are structured. By doing this I found importtant keywords like "brand values", "tone of voice" and "brand mission".

Results: This led to me creating a word document with brand guidelines. I included things like "mission statement", "brand values", "brand personality" and logo guidelines.

PROJECT ORGANIZATION

Project organization: During the Picoo project some team members had conducted interviews with teachers to find out what they prefer when making quizzes for their students. I helped my team to summarize the results of the interviews and organize the information in a way that was easier to understand.

Reflection

What did I learn: By reading all the interviews I learned the functionalities that teachers want in the Picoo app.

Improvements: I can improve my organization skills by being more specific about what I need to find. I can also improve my summarization skills by practicing summarizing information in a clear way.

Conclusion: I'm getting better at organizing information, but I still need to improve my summarization skills.
